I learned to use tablets on a tremendous set up…I did digital photo work and had a large Wacom with a dream pc and twin monster monitors. I was cautious about obtaining this dinky little thing. Especially on my quaint little monitor.

I place it on my wishlist anyway, based on a good amount of solid reviews, and my oldsters ended up obtaining it for me, as a birthday gift.

The pen did feel a touch low cost and flimsy at first. The plastic body of the pill appeared a very little paying homage to my recent Barbie house, spray painted gray. I used to be worried.

Then I noticed I hadn’t quite gotten the pen back along totally after putting within the battery. When getting drivers installed (I have XP–this was as easy as may be), I began playing. And immediately forgot all concerns.

I spent a sensible whereas operating through software woes (most notably is learning brush dynamics in GIMP), but the pill itself works beautifully.

It’s very hard to trace something below the plastic–the pen hitting at completely different angles will have an effect on the cursor placement on your screen. But personally, I prefer scanning one thing in and operating over it anyway (I’ve been doing digital ‘inking’ of pencil drawings), and I’ve got yet to find any ways in which in which the wacom is superior.
